Rural Innovation Network Ghana (RING)

The Rural Innovation Network Ghana (RING) is a key initiative under the BRIInG project, designed to build a vibrant and sustainable ecosystem that supports rural innovation and enterprise development. RING connects rural entrepreneurs, researchers, government agencies, and private sector actors to drive long-term collaboration, knowledge sharing, and resource mobilization.

Through training programs, workshops, and access to funding and investor networks, RING equips rural innovators with the tools they need to grow and thrive. The network also supports product development, branding, certification, and policy advocacy to enhance the visibility and impact of rural enterprises.

By uniting stakeholders and promoting sustainable development, RING is creating lasting impact across Ghana’s rural landscape—empowering communities, expanding market access, and driving inclusive economic growth.

Launch of RING

On 12 June 2024, the UGBS Innovation and Incubation Hub organized a stakeholder engagement event, "From Farm to Fork," to foster collaboration among rural entrepreneurs, researchers, and investors. The event aimed to develop a framework for the Collaborative Community of Practice (CCOP) to support a thriving rural innovation ecosystem. Key speakers emphasized the importance of stakeholder engagement, rural food innovation, and government support for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The event concluded with an interactive panel discussion, promoting collaboration and addressing questions and concerns.
