At the heart of promoting sustainable entrepreneurship, the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Innovation and Incubation hub recently demonstrated its unwavering commitment to empowering local innovators through practical support. As part of the RISA Fund BRIInG Project, a dedicated team from UGBS NEST, led by the UGBS Dean, Professor Justice Bawole, visited Kade and Cape Coast to deliver vital resources aimed at enhancing productivity and quality.
In Kade, the team presented a biodigester to the RISA beneficiaries, focused on improving the quality of palm oil production. This innovative technology helps reduce moisture content through coagulation, addressing a key challenge faced by local producers. Professor Bawole emphasized the importance of sustainable practices, stating, "Our goal is to support entrepreneurs with tools that not only increase their efficiency but also promote environmental sustainability. This bio-digester is a tangible step towards cleaner, better-quality palm oil."

The gesture exemplifies UGBS NEST’s ongoing dedication to delivering valuable, practical, and sustainable empowerment to entrepreneurs and innovators across Ghana. Complementing this, the team, alongside the UGBS School Administrator Mr. Poku Sarkodee and Dr. Maame Adjei, an influential stakeholder in the project, handed over four juicer machines to RISA beneficiaries in Cape Coast. These machines are specifically intended for producers of pasteurized juice and dry fruits, providing them with the necessary equipment to enhance their product quality and expand their market reach.

"Our support goes beyond mere donations," said Dr. Maame Adjei. "We aim to build capacities, foster innovation, and sustain entrepreneurship that can withstand market challenges. These tools are investments in the future of these entrepreneurs and the vibrant communities they serve."
These initiatives form part of UGBS NEST’s broader strategy to bolster local enterprises through practical, sustainable means, aligning with the goals of the RISA Fund BRIInG Project to facilitate innovation, economic growth, and environmental consciousness.

As these entrepreneurs begin to harness the new tools, the impact is expected to be far-reaching, leading to improved product quality, increased profitability, and more resilient local businesses. UGBS NEST remains committed to nurturing Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by providing innovative solutions and sustainable support systems.
