The University of Ghana Business School Innovation Hub, on the 22nd of October,2024, hosted the THINK Network Induction Program, marking a significant step towards fostering a robust entrepreneurship ecosystem within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Ghana.
This event brought together key stakeholders from across education and entrepreneurship including heads and faculty members of higher education institutions alongside ecosystem partners such as the British Council, some members of the private sector and government institutions.
Dr. Yaw Bediako, CEO of Yemaachi Biotech, delivered a compelling keynote address, sharing real-world statistics and examples, illustrating the need for higher education institutions to actively foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
A highlight of the event was the induction of the newly elected THINK Network executives, who were officially charged with advancing the network's mission. In a further show of commitment to the mission of the network, four member institutions of the network were awarded grants to establish innovation hubs on their campuses. These hubs will serve as incubators for student-led ventures, offering mentorship, funding and resources to help transform ideas into sustainable enterprises.
The event concluded with a lively cocktail reception, offering attendees an opportunity to network and share ideas.
As the THINK Network advances it's mission, this induction program has set the stage for higher education institutions to become drivers of innovation, empowering students to lead in both local and global markets.
